This is America … This is sunny San Diego! This is an alley filled with people in a line stretched down the road…waiting to file through a food line to collect food for their families. This is a food and clothing distribution location called Bridge of Hope… Started by one woman who has a passion for the poor and hungry. Our students passed out carrots, potatoes, bread, watermelon, cookies and more.  My heart was broken in a million pieces as I watched women with babies, elderly men and women barely able to walk, young folks… People just like you and me… Spending a day in the heat and sun to gather food for their households that may only last a couple of days. Every Friday this is what happens. Could this happen where I live? Does it already and I just don’t see ? Afterwards, back in my car, I suck down the rest of my Jamba Juice. What’s wrong with this picture?  Give me the eyes to see and the hands to do… dear God!
