Everything is “bigger and better” here in the Lone-Star state!  According to the March 2009 census, the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex has a population of over 6 million people, making it the fourth largest and number one fastest-growing (by population) metropolitan area in the nation last year.  An estimated 30,000 people live within one mile of downtown Dallas.

The needs in Dallas are staggering.  There are an estimated 6,000-10,000 homeless and one of every six people lives in poverty.  50% of the south Dallas population lives below the poverty line.  More than 60,000 people live in public housing.

The opportunities in Dallas are exciting!  American Missionary Fellowship missionaries and their colleagues faithfully serve in Dallas through ministries such as after-school tutoring, Bible clubs, feeding the homeless, elderly Bible Studies, school supply drives, Thanksgiving dinners, and sports camps.

Dallas has more churches per capita than any other American city, but it also has the worst overall crime rate for cities with more than 1 million people.

We invite you to join what God is doing, and to help us bring the light of the Gospel to the people of Dallas, Texas.
