The pursuit of justice, freedom and transformation is the cord that stitches together the community of Jackson, Mississippi. Kaleo Missions partners with local church planters who are engaging issues of Gospel transformation in their city. Bring your team to serve alongside the local church, while learning about historical, weighty people and places, and experiencing how Jesus transforms our understanding of race and God’s plan to use all people for His glory.

During your time in Jackson, your team will experience, learn, listen and serve. Our local staff will guide your team through experience-based learning, including spending time at the brand new Mississippi Civil Rights Museum, hearing from local church leaders, and learning ways to bring God glory and celebrate each person who is created in His image. Our teams will also have the opportunity to explore the home of Medgar Evers, now turned into a museum, which honors the many sacrifices that took place in Jackson and Mississippi.

Jackson is the state capital of Mississippi, which was the site of significant struggle during the Civil Rights Movement of the fifties and sixties because of its resistance to equal rights for its black citizens.

We invite you to bring your group to come and serve alongside of us on an urban Jackson short term mission trip.

7:30 – 8:45 – Breakfast/Devotionals:

We provide breakfast for your team and give you the opportunity to either do devotionals as a group or for your students to do devotionals individually.

9:00 – 12:00 – Visit to the Home of Medgar Evers:

Medger Evers was a Civil Rights leader who was assassinated in 1963.  His home where he was killed has become a museum and is a great place to learn about the Civil Rights history of Jackson and our country and to begin to really consider the importance of unity in the Gospel.

12:15 – 12:45 – Lunch at Kaleo Housing Location

12:45 – 1:45 – Bible Club Preparation Time

2:00 – 5:00 – Bible Club with Local Church Plant

Your group would have the opportunity to lead all aspects of the club including arts/crafts, Bible time, games, and a literacy/reading time.

6:00 – 6:30 – Dinner at Kaleo Housing Site

6:30 – 7:15 – Evening Debrief
